Healing from RSI - My Holy Grail of Tools

I have been struggling with RSI symptoms, for at least a decade. A battle that began during my computer science studies in the latter years, with my thesis being the tipping point. A combination of high stress, improper posture, and prolonged usage, ultimately took its toll.
Initially, I only noticed the pain in my neck and hands after extended computer use. Back then, the symptoms would fade within a few hours of rest. However, at a certain point, the symptoms continued even after computer usage. By then the RSI had been “spread” to my shoulders, forearms, and even my back. RSI is something that sneaks up on you, gradually worsening if you ignore the symptoms.
I began experiencing sharp shooting pains in my fingers during computer and mobile phone use. It became so severe that even holding utensils was painful. Tying shoelaces became a challenge, and I frequently dropped things. Sleep was elusive due to the pain; it was a nightmare. I realized I had a problem.
Even worse, there was a lack of comprehensive information available on how to tackle RSI. A visit to my general practitioner led to a referral to a physiotherapist, who primarily advised me on adjusting my sitting posture and suggested some basic stretching and fitness exercises. I was already engaged in fitness activities, so I found this advice to be somewhat elementary and a waste of money. I later sought help from a clinic where I discovered new approaches, including the powerball—a revelation. However, such clinics often proved costly, and in the end, it mostly came down to personal exercises and discipline.
I often think about how much better it could have been if I had been warned about RSI earlier and understood that recovery becomes extremely challenging once it progresses to a severe stage, where rest alone is no longer sufficient. Ultimately, I had to give up my IT office job due to the symptoms and I had to take a different path. Now, as a freelancer, I have more control over my time, leading to reduced stress.
Over the years, I encountered ineffective aids and advice that did not work for me. Using a pen as a mouse merely shifted the discomfort, and stress balls and similar items were inadequate. But through time, I also stumbled upon tools that worked amazingly, true diamonds. I often wondered why this valuable knowledge wasn't readily accessible, and still isn’t in my opinion.
